Positive Thoughts Mini card Showcase

Hello scrappy friends! I was on a card making kick yesterday and made a bunch of cards. I challenged myself to use up some of the scraps in my scrapbin. I was almost waist high in them :) I decided that I would also only use the Positive Thoughts stamp set by K Andrew Designs for my sentiments.  $1 from every single one of these sets sold benefits Storefront Shelter (Homeless shelter for children and youth) in San Diego, CA. This is Kristal's signature charity.  All of Kristal's stamps are made in the USA, keeping jobs here for us, with the highest quality photo polymer. Meaning you get a crisp clean image every time you stamp with them. 

So here is what I came up with from my scrap bin and a few embellishments.

Operation Owl Hop winner and a shaker card too

Ooooh weeee, I feel like I've run a marathon today there is so much going on around my house. Amongst getting my family ready for a camping trip with some family friends I made 7 (yes I said 7!!!) cards today. Mind you I was doing laundry and other household chores, lol I think I earned my multi-tasking gold star today :) So I thought before I went to bed I would sneak a post in to tell you who won my personal blog candy from the Operation Owl blog hop this weekend and to show you one of the 7 card creations from today. Now on to the card...
I am rather proud of this card because this is made completely with scraps from my scrap bin which is waist high! I am entering this in Crafty Sprouts & Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C97) shaker card challenge. I love the Impression Obsession shaker pouches, they are self adhesive and so simple to use! I decided to use one of my Unity Stamp Co. stamps from a Kit of the Month in the pouch and add birdseed. And what card would be complete without a K Andrew Designs Art stamp??

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday


Welcome to another fabulous Simply Sunday. We are featuring the Freedom Isn't Free stamp set from K Andrew Designs this Sunday. $1 from every one of these sets sold benefits Intrepid Fallen Heroes for those service men and women who are seriously wounded/disfigured while serving overseas service. This set is perfect for making cards for our service people here and over seas.

Now I'm going to apologize in advance for the quality of these pictures I was having problems uploading the ones I took with my Nikon so I had to resort to taking pictures with my little camera and they are very grainy. But you get the idea.



I used six stamps from the Freedom Isn't Free set. To make the non embossed area on my card I used an A2 sized piece of chipboard with a square cut out of it on the outside of my embossing folder and ran it through my cuttlebug with the C plate rather than 2 B plates.

Those of you that remember our monthly hop will remember my navy kids. Well I tried my hand at the little cuties again but I thought I would make the army girl this time around. I think she turned out just as freakin' adorable as the navy kids and now I have a better idea on the sizing, lol! This cutter file is from Little Scraps of Heaven Desingns. Please check her out she has some adorable cut files and a sale this week! If you spend $20 you receive 55% off by entering the coupon code xmasjul at the check out and who doesn't love a sale. I used my Silhouette to cut out my little army girl. Speaking of Silhouette they are releasing a new 12x12 cutter in October, I can't wait! I saw the prototype at CHA :)

While I was at the consumer portion of the show at CHA I picked up a Bow-Easy at the Taylored Expression booth and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. My bows are perfect every time now and its super easy to use. You can pick one up at their online store.

Operation Owl Hop

I am so pleased to have all of you join us for this hop. Kristal means so much to all of us and this is our little way to say Thank You and WE LOVE YOU Kristal! 

I find myself grateful everyday for the lord  introducing Kristal to me. Though we have never really met in person I feel like we are soul sisters. I believe we have a greater purpose together and we will conquer great missions together. NOPE, I don't know what those are yet but the lord will figure that out for us too :)

Kristal is this person for me!  After we closed our retail store her blog postings lifted me everyday. I have really enjoyed getting to know Kristal online.  She reminded me that when god closes a door he opens a window and that it was not ME who failed it was the situation.  I hope that I can be this person for Kristal and help her through the trials that life throws at us. So I made this card for Kristal to tell her Thank You for all she has done for me. Which is so much more than inviting me onto her design team for K Andrew Design Art Stamps and introducing me to the great group of women that is on her team. (Love you girls!!)

Owl Always Love You

 Now the picture of this card does it NO justice! I used K Andrew Design Art Stamps (Amazing You), some older Graphic 45 papers and the cardboard is from Canvas Corp. I machine stitched (without the thread) around the two sides, inked up the edges and  colored my Unity Stamp Co.  itty bitty  with my copic markers. I also added gold Viva Decor pearls to the flower centers but you can't see them in the photo. That Unity stamp is brand new and I'm lovin' it :)

Getting Cricky Blog Hop Winner

Hello my fabulous peeps! Let me start with an apology for taking so long to post this! I have been so busy this week, but in a good way. I was at CHA all week!!!! "Run for the Fallen Maine is an organization dedicated to keeping alive the memory of our military heroes that gave their lives to protect our freedom since September 11, 2001.

On Sunday August 21, 2011 the 4th run to honor our heroes will be held. This is a 65 kilometer event with each kilometer being dedicated to the memory of one of our heroes that lived in Maine, had family from Maine or had some ties to our home State."

I had great intentions for making a ton of cards for this event but as life happens I was only able to get one done so far. Did you see those cute little Navy Kids at the top of my post?? Those were intended to go on cards but I cut them WAY too big, lol. So I'm hoping this weekend I will be able to get them cut smaller and make some cards with them and their counterparts. The cut is from Little Scraps of Heaven Designs Military Kids cut file. This file has kids in uniform for every branch of the military; so cute! Make sure you hop over and check her out, she has a 50% off sale on her cut files right now :) She has quite a few files that would go wonderfully with Kristal's stamps sets. So here are a few pictures of card that I did get finished for today's hop.



  
I used BoBunny DP for this card and stamped the stars on a spellbinder labels die and mounted it to the card on an action wobble. I think I have a new obsession for these things. I used two of Kristal's stamps on this card. One on the front and the other on the inside.

Each of Kristal's stamp sets benefit charity. At least $1 per stamp set goes to benefit the charity noted on the stamp set package. Kristal is donating to the following charities: Cancer Angels, Storefront Shelter for Homeless Children, Intrepid & Fallen Heroes, Doorways Shelter for Women & Children (Domestic Violence), and Autism Research Institute. Kristal will donate $1 for every stamp set sold, retail or wholesale to the charity noted; and over time believes this will add up to some wonderful miracles for these special people. So you can feel good that each time you purchase a K Andrew Designs art stamp set, someone around the country is receiving some good help!

K Andrew Designs stamps are all made and assembled here in the USA, which is very important to Kristal. This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America.

You are Blessing

Alright my fabulous readers. I am running SERIOUSLY short on time this week and I have had this card done since last Thursday I'm doing the worlds quickest post for you today.
 This card was made with K Andrew Designs Art Stamps Amazing You set. Make sure you hop over to Kristal's store to check out all of the other fabulous sets that Kristal has designed. I just love the quality of her stamps! I also used my Amy Chomas gel pen holder in my Silhouette for the image on the front. I love how my images turn out every time I use my pen holder!

Why is it that when ever I log into blogger to write a blog post for you to read I find myself speachless?? If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting me in person you would know that I am not a girl that lacks for words, bwahahahaha! So why is it that writing something that I hope you will find interesting is so terrifying it leaves me speechless?? Uhgggg! So I will commence with my post today and pray that you enjoy reading about my life, lol.

Welcome to another Simply Sunday hosted by our fabulous and fearless leader Mrs. Kristal Andrew over at Getting Cricky. Don't you just love reading her posts on Sundays? What a wonderful gift Kristal has, I am blessed to consider her my friend. Funny story, we actually didn't know each other until a few months ago when I had posted some words of encouragement to the girls at Peachy Keen stamps one day when they were having trouble with their server during a big sale. Kristal liked my comment on facebook and I hopped over and requested her friendship, I didn't know anything about her. I'm not sure why, that's not something I normally just do but I'm sure glad I did that day. Since then I've gotten to know Kristal and learn that she is truly as sweet as she appears online, a rarity I believe these days. I feel like we are sister's now :)  She is one of the most selfless people I know. Did you know that she donates $1 from every set that she sells to a charity? Kristal is not making stamps to become rich she is making them in hopes that she can help someone else in need and touch the lives of others. This is why I love using her stamps so much! I feel like if I can inspire you and give you a new idea to use them our group effort to will make a large impact on the life of a soldier, a child or woman in need or a cancer patient.

This weekend Kristal asked us to make an inspiring creation using her set called Fashionable Friends which benefits stage 4 cancer patients. I actually can't wait to show you my card for today's Simply Sunday Challenge! I made it for a friend of ours for his 31st birthday. And let me tell you I giggled the whole time I was making it and it was the hit of the party. I'm actually giggling right now thinking about it :) So without further ado, lets take a peek.

I used my amazing silhouette to cut out the lingerie (isn't it so cute?) and then I adhered it to the card with an action wobble (this is my favorite part). Now this card was for a man so I used K Andrew Designg's Art stamps Fashionable Friends set. With the most fitting sentiment and on the inside I wrote "shake it baby, shake it!" and all night that's what everyone did. They shook the card to make the lingerie move, hehehe.

Its alright to wear your rose tinted glasses!


I am in LOVE with this card! Now I know that sounds facetious but its the stamps and the paper that I'm in love with! I have seen this turquoise and dark grey combo everywhere in the fashion world lately and I couldn't wait to transfer it to a card. The turquoise paper I used here is from Authentique Company  I can't tell you how much I like the quality of this paper! I can't wait to see what they come out with next. It very much reminds me of My Mind's Eye which is one of my favorite paper companies. Those Fabulous stamps are from K Andrew Designs! I just love how well these stamped on the canvas.  The sentiments that I choose are from Kristal's Positive Thoughts set. If you don't have this set yet it is a must have! Atleast $1 from the sale of  each set benefits Storefront Shelter (Homeless shelter for children and youth in San Diego, CA)

Now go out into the world and wear your rose tinted glasses! Help someone today just because you can. You never know what it might mean to them, you might just save their life. The smallest thing you do will at least make them smile and it will certainly make you feel good inside!

Happy Independence Day

Happy 4th of July all! I hope everyone is having a safe and happy weekend remembering why we are celebrating today! Because I am spending the day surrounded by family with lots of activity my post for today will be short and sweet.

I wanted the kids to have something fun to put their candy in at the parade this weekend so I made them all their own individualized bags. (no fighting over who's is who's, lol!)  I used K Andrew Design Art Stamps Freedom isn't Free stamp set, it just fit so perfectly! 




To make these cute little bags I bought some plain gift bags from the Dollar store (2 for $1) then I went to my trusty Silhouette store looking for the perfect cuts. Easy peasy 20 minutes later I had 4 bags finished. Now that's how I like it considering I sat down to make them at 1:30 in the morning the night before, lol!

Fishings the life for me

What a fabulous weekend! I hope you are all having as great as a weekend as me :) I was so excited to have my friend and her family here for a visit this weekend to help us celebrate my littlest man's Birthday. We have been super blessed to be surrounded by good company all weekend. I'm sad it all had to come to an end, there is nothing like getting all the people in your life together in one place for a good time and good food! LOL, I'm going to have to get creative this week with leftovers because we had enough food to feed an army and we have lots of leftovers.

So my card for today's Simply Sunday Challenge over at Getting Cricky reflects my mood! I used another K Andrew Arts Design stamp to express myself :) Today I used her Splashtastic Summer Set. Atleast $1 from any purchase of this set will benefit the Autism Research Institute.


How true that sentiment does ring! We had such a great time at the parade and just sitting and visiting! I wish that I had a whole week with them so that we could have done more. I'm sure I will use this particular saying from Kristal's set a lot.
