Blog on

Alright now that the store is winding down and I feel the crafty bug biting me I think I will try to keep the blog up. I know it has been a very long time since I have been active in the blogging world but it will give me something to focus my time on. It has been a long year with lots of excitement, heartbreak and most importantly lessons that I have learned from. I am excited to move forward with my life and focus on new adventures and I'm excited to have you all join me along the way! I think I will start with some sketch challenges to get me warmed up again. This week I stumbled on this sketch over at Stuck on U Sketches go check out all the talented ladies over there if you get a chance and if you came from there, Thank You!

I have to say that I'm addicted to PageMaps they completely take the intimidation out of scrapbooking for me and I get my layouts done so much faster. Plus Becky Fleck (pagemaps creator) has years of archived sketches for you to choose from. Ok, alright, enough of my babbling already, drum roll please.......

January 2, 2011 Sketch

Becky's Take:

I used My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Boy collection for this layout. It has been sitting in my closet begging to be used since I got it! I cut the hearts and title with my circut and gypsy and hand stitched the heart on the bottom. I add the two extra pictures so you could see some of the detail on this page. I hope you enjoy and thanks for joining me!

Sunday Sketch III

Welcome back for week #3 of Sunday Sketches. I'm starting to think that we should call it Sunday Sketches that are almost posted on Monday, LOL! Things have been quite hectic this week with my husband being out of town and the course work affiliated with the 14 week advanced course I enrolled myself in. So much for my New Years resolution of not taking on more than I can handle. Sorry I know your not hear to read about my life, so drum roll please......

and my take on this weeks sketch.

I'm not completely in love with my take on this weeks sketch, I feel like it needs a bit more. I can't wait to see what you have all come up with. Just leave a comment with a link to your blog post or email your pictures to me and I will get them posted for everyone to see.

Thanks for visiting again,
~Becky~

January Sketch #2

On to our second Sunday Sketch! I have to say I have really enjoyed this weekly challenge so far. I start my week with a hunt for the perfect sketch at http://www.pagemaps.com/ . I absolutely love these sketches by Becky Fleck, they seem to take the intimidation out of scrapbooking for me.

Now not just any ole sketch will work, it has to speak to me, it usually says "use me with THIS paper", lol!  This weeks sketch came from the June 2009 archives and it  told me it liked My Mind's Eye paper agian. This time it was the Jack and Jill portion of their Quite Contrary line which has been one of my all time favorites. What I love about My Mind's Eye collections is all of the adorable coordinating embelishments at fabulous prices!

You will start to notice that I will rarely finish a layout without adding bling of some sort, either in the form of rhinestones, stickles, liquid pearls or viva decor pearl pens. I also love bright colors and buttons.

This is a layout of my friend Heather who has been one of the strongest supporters and people in my life. I couldn't do everything that I do without her, she helps me keep my head attached and she watches my boys for me. She always has a positive additude and great out. I'm so blessed to have her in my life!(Sorry about the poor picture quality, I'm still getting used to my new camera.) If you want to see a larger view of the picture you can click on it to see the detail.
Well Thanks for joining us again for week two, see you next week!

Back from CHA

What a whirl-wind trip! I learned a lot and had a lot of fun with some great travel companions! We didn't have much time to explore California because of our limited amount of time. But the new scrapbook stuff I saw was oh so fun!

On the first day less than an hour after the convention doors opened I WON A CREATOPIA by Xyron! This is a super fun new toy that will apply adhesive, emboss and cut on a full 12x12 page go HERE to check it out. I can't wait to receive it in the mail, I'll let you know what I think when I get it.

I also got to meet Tim Holtz breifly and had my picture taken with him, which I will post later when I find my camera. I also had some fun in the Basic Grey booth with Kelly Goree while doing her make and take. She is a very talented lady with a great personality go check out her blog {behind the pages.}. I think my favorite line by Basic Grey was their new Cappella wedding line it has a beautifully elegant mix of of modern colors and vintage detail.

Ok girls I would love to keep going on today but I have million things to do after being gone for 3 days so I will have to a come back and finish my post tonight. I will have lots more for you!

CHA 2010

I'm so excited I'm bursting at the seems! I just found out today that I will be attending the winter CHA 2010 next weekend! I can't believe that I'm actually going :) All I can say is I have an extremely generous boss! I can't believe that I'll get to see all the brand new products coming to the stores before they even hit the shelves! Then on top of that to meet creative geniuses like Tim Holz and Anna Griffin... I'll be the stalker with the camera :) Did I mention I've only been west of Minnesota once and I have only been on an airplane once back in 1999.

I think I'm going to go craft some of my excited energy away now, I just couldn't wait to share my news with all of you! Come back soon I'll have lots of pictures from CA for you :P

Hellooooo out there

Happy New Year ladies!! I'm sorry that I haven't been that active on here lately! But for those of you who even bother to check anymore I wanted to let you know that I am still very alive :) I have gained back most of my energy but have been very busy with work and family. I hope that Christmas was good for all of you. It appears that Santa thought I was a good girl this year as he brought me a pair of 1/2 carat diamond earrings and a Wii balance board among some of the other Christmas staples like new pajamas and slippers.

I have done some crafting recently but don't have any pictures to share with you yet... I promise soon! I also hope to have some other exciting news that I have been spending quite a bit of time on lately.

My husband Steve and I found out that we will be having another baby boy and they moved my due date up to June 4th. I have another ultrasound appointment on January 15th to check on the growth progress so I will keep you updated. Thank You to those of you who may still follow me!

Adding to the family

Hello all my faithful followers :) I wanted to let you know why I haven't been so crafty lately. My husband and I found out a few weeks ago that we are expecting again!! Due to our growing little peanut I have been especially tired and just haven't had the drive to go to my craftroom :( I'm hoping this phase passes quickly and I will back to my usual self very soon so please stay tuned! I have some great ideas, now I just need to find the energy...
