Tis the season...

Well my crafty friends, as you can see I was unable to keep my promise to stay as motivated as I had hoped. That doesn't mean I haven't been motivated at all though. LOL. Yesterday I made 4 dozen spiced apple cider stuffed cookies and 22(!!) quarts of chex mix plus a fabulous dinner for my family.  I wish I had the time and energy to do a 12 days of Christmas countdown like some of the other bloggers that inspire me so much but with two little guys I seem to burn out after they are in bed. I'm sure that many of you can relate.

In the past few weeks of my life I have been a crafting fool getting ready for a craft fair at my local high school. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the time to share all that I have been up to. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea and I will be going on a CPAP machine as soon as my insurance approves everything. This would explain my major burn out and lack of energy ALL day long. Relief is in my near future, yeah! But today I thought I would share some of the crafty things I have been up to in no particular order. I hope you all enjoy and if I don't post again before Christmas day. Merry Christmas, I hope that you all enjoy your family, friends and loved ones. Safe travels to anyone on the road or in the air.

So here we go......
I love all the pretty wreaths I have been seeing online, so I decided to try my hand at one. I made rosettes and stacked them. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how this project turned out. And of coarse the picture does it no justice.

My second home decor project for this season was inspired by Natalie Denver. This girl is so talented and provides me with an amazing amount of inspiration. Plus she is from right here in Wisconsin! (hehe, I love that she is so close and that we might actually get to meet one day) check out her blog here to see her other creations. Dougnat Diaries. Now mine didn't turn out as fabulously as Natalie's but they have grown on me :)

Just a snapshot of what I have been up to. I hope you all enjoyed today's post. Now back to my holiday baking :)

Time to unpause and refocus

Hello Squirly Girl followers. I apologize for being so neglectful of my blog lately. I have had some extra demands on my time and since this is a hobby for me it had to be set aside for a bit. I believe that I should be back to semi-normal now. I have missed a ton in the bloggy world and been a bad design team member but I have made a commitment to myself to refocus.

I don't know about many of you but I am in denial that cold weather is coming our way. I guess my theory is that if I don't acknowledge it it won't happen, lol. So when I made this project for you maybe it was my subconscious finally accepting the fact that it is going to be cold for the next  8 or 9 months, lol.

I made this layout for you using last years (yes, for those of you that have been following I'm still on my paper purchasing strike) Echo Park Wintertime collection. I just love the colors of this collection. Non traditional Christmas colors are always right up my alley. For my stamped sentiment above the picture I used K Andrew Design Art Stamps Winter Wishes set. You can purchase these sets by clicking on the link to go to her online store.

Now to the craft room to continue my commitment to be unpaused :)

Getting Cricky Simply Sunday

Welcome back Getting Cricky Fans! I love Simply Sunday's because you ladies are so kind and thoughtful! If your here just by random chance please make sure you check out all the projects made by the fabulous Getting Cricky Design Team, these girls are super inspirational.  We all love using our K Andrew Design Art stamps to make up fun projects to inspire you and Kristal's designs make it just all too easy. With her mix and match style of designing it is always easy peasy make the  perfect saying for you project. Hop on over to K Andrew Designs online store {HERE} to pick up all the stamps you will need for this holiday season. If you have a stamper friend I promise you they would love these as a gift!

So this week Kristal asked us to create a treat holder of some sort for you. This gave me the perfect opportunity to make a bag for my son to collect all his trick or treat goodies in. I'm not sure the bag will be big enough however since we live on the most popular street in town to trick or treat on. Maybe it will be a hint to the candy givers, lol!

I used My K Andrew Design Art Stamps Fall-o-ween set to stamp the perfect sentiment on my first chipboard sticker. All of my paper scraps and chipboard stickers on this project are from the BoBunny Whoo-ligans collection from last year.  I made my flower from some Hobby Lobby ribbon and a Gluber then I just added an American Crafts brad to the center of it.

Now Don't forget to make any fall treat holder and link it up to our Simply Sunday Challenge over on the Getting Cricky blog. Its fun to see all the projects you ladies come up with. I can't wait to see what you come up with :)

Bee A Little Spooky

Hello my happy followers :)  I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a while, I have been a little preoccupied lately. No excuse just plain busy.... I'm happy to report that we have had a major break through in our house today that any parent can appreciate. My 3 year old finally decided to poop on the potty! LOL, I bet you really wanted to know that :)  Anyway on to my project for today. I'm sticking with the layouts because you guys seem to really like them and its a good challenge for me. Today's layout is for this years Halloween picture of my youngest son who is going as a bumble bee.

All of my patterned paper on this layout are by Authentique Paper Company. I am in love with this new company, the quality of their paper is fantastic! Now I wasn't sure about the color combination on this layout when I first made it but it really has grown on me and I love it now. I was afraid that the bumble bees would make this layout look too girly so I tried to give it a boy feel with its colors.

Here is a close up of the stamped title on this layout. I used a combination of fabulous K Andrew Design Art Stamps. The "Bee" is from Kristal's Winged Things set and the rest is from her Fall-O-ween stamp set. I love how I can mix and match the different words from her sets to get the perfect saying every time! Please visit K Andrew's online store and help her support some worthy causes! She makes it easy for you to do this by donating $1 from every single stamp set sold to a chosen charity.

Kristal also has a Design team call on her blog Getting Cricky right now. Please visit {THIS POST} for benefits and information on applying. Kristal has a GREAT team and you will be joining a group of ladies that is out of this world! We love to support each other :)

Simply Sunday Fall Treats

Welcome again Getting Cricky Fans! I can't believe its been two weeks since our last Simply Sunday. We had some FABULOUS  projects last time! I just love seeing all the creations you guys share and inspire us with. You ladies always leave me such nice comments on my projects and I love reading them every week it truly warms me :)

Now I asked you guys during our hop last weekend which project you liked best and overwhelmingly it was my layout so I decided to make a few more for you. This week our theme was fall treats but my mind was on layouts so I hope you aren't disappointed.

I made this layout while visiting a friend who owns a scrapbook store in Baraboo, Wisconsin she had this layout made with spring papers and I lifted it from her. Thanks Pam!

I get a lot of comments each week asking what papers I used on my projects so I'm going to try to be better at letting you know what I've used. All of the paper and embellishments on this lay out are from Imaginisce's Fall line from last year.  Of course my stamped sentiment is from K Andrew Designs Fall-o-ween stamp set. I love the mix and match possibilities that come with Kristal's sets!

With the purchase of every single Fall-o-ween stamp set $1 will be donated to the signature charity that Kristal has chosen. How can making a purchase get better than that?

Alright ladies I'm off to spend some time with my family. I hope you all have wonderful and blessed days!

This ensures all product materials are safe and that jobs are being provided and maintained here in America.  You can learn even more about Kristal's stamps (and pick some up for yourself) by visiting her online store: K Andrew Designs:

Kristal's THREE newest stamps sets are LARGER sets -- perfect for cards, layouts, and so much more...  For more details or to make one these sets YOURS, please click on the preview:

Fall-O-Ween benefits "Adopt a Classroom"

Winter Wishes benefits "Adopt a Classroom"

Scripture Sayings benefits "Good Samaritan Health Center"

For my projects, I'm featuring the all three of Kristal's new sets, yeah! First I'll start with Fall-o-ween which I have both a card and a layout for. The patterned paper that I used on both of these projects is from Bo-Bunny's Wooligan's line from last season. I think this is by far my favorite halloween paper line of all time.

Too cute to spook Bo-Bunny LO

A close up of my cute little munchin and those awesome K Andrew's stamps!

and now for my card using more of the Wooligan's line and that cute little Franky is from Peachy Keen Stamps. I used a Card Positioning System (CPS) sketch for my card.

Here are the cards that I came up with from Kristal's Winter Wishes set.

For this first card my image stamps is from Inkadinkadoo. I fell in love with these little chickie's years ago and I have one for every holiday. The ribbon on this card is  from Maya Rd and the paper is from one of last years Bo-Bunny lines.

Tweet Holidays card

For this second card I simply used my circle punches to make a fun snowman and a tore some white paper to make it look like snow drifts. My background paper is from Cosmo Cricket and again it is older.  A little ink a few embellishments and a fabulous K Andrew Designs stamp make for a super quick card.
Frosty Wishes and Cosmo Cricket
And last but not least here is the creation I made with Kristal's Scripture Sayings set.
Scripture Sayings plaque
Now believe it or not this started out as a card gone wrong. I hate to throw anything away so I improvised and dug into my stash and found this cork board picture frame that I had tucked away and a can of spray paint to the rescue. I LOVE how this turned out!

Here are a few more close ups for you so you can see all the details.

A Smooth Sailing Simply Sunday

Hello again Getting Cricky Fans! Welcome to Squirly Girl Creations :) I hope you are all having the wonderful weekend weather that we are having here in Wisconsin. I'm not ready for all the Fall weather they are predicting for next week, I like the warmth of the sunshine and I really dislike what comes after Fall. Cold for months on end!

I'm just 2 followers away from 200. Woot, Woot! I would love it if you would become a follower of mine! Maybe I should do a give away when I reach 200 followers. What do you think?

This weekend is all about Halloween here at Getting Cricky. My favorite holiday to make cards for!! Today my card is simple but I really like how it turned out.

Of course I used my fabulous K Andrew Design stamps! For this particular card I had to think outside the box because I don't have Kristal's new Fall-o-ween set in my hot little hands yet, so I used her Splashtastic Summer set. I just love how versatile Kristal's stamps are if you think outside the box just a little :) I also used Creative Imaginations Luminarte Twinkling H2O's to paint my moon and those super cuts are straight from the silhouette store.

I hope you all enjoyed my card for today! Don't forget if you want some more K Andrew inspiration that you can join us at Getting Cricky  on the 3rd Friday of every month for our blog hop. Now we all love comments so go leave everyone some bloggy lovin' please :) Cheers to a good week!

Simply Sunday

Happy Sunday blogland and Getting Cricky Fans :)  I hope you are all in good health and spirits while you read this today! I am super sleepy as I write this on Saturday night so I am going to keep things short and sweet for you today. I am away running errands as you read this buying party supplies for my Best friends going away party on Sept. 10th (Oh I'm going to miss her more than she will ever know!)  and looking for an outfit for my son to wear to my brothers wedding next weekend Sept. 3. So enough ramblings about my life and on to the things you are really here for anyways, lol. Though I do enjoy holding your attention captive, bwahahahaha.

This week Kristal asked us to inspire you with projects that had a "wings" theme. I of course used one of Kristal's newest stamp sets Wings and Things. You can find it here in her online store at www.kandrewdesigns.com.

Wind beneath my wings shape card
Since I am on a kick to use up my scraps this card is made entirely from there. I used my cuttle bug and one of my spellbinder die to create this fun shaped card.

Let your dreams take flight card
This card I am in love with! Love I tell you. Mostly because I used my most recent scrap store purchase, Authentique Paper. Isn't that flower pattern sooo pretty and the yellow wood grain, what isn't to love? I used my K Andrew Design Art Stamps and a little Unity Stamp Co. lovin' as well.

Alright ladies, I can't keep em' open any longer. I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Oh, wait one more thing. Will you all pray that we get an offer of the showing of our house today? Please, pretty please? Thank You!!

This week for our Getting Cricky challenge the design team has been asked to share some sort of party favor with you. Here is what I came up with for you :)
Spa day pillow box (cut with Silhouette)
This fun little pillow box is large enough to hold a bottle of nail polish and toe separators. I can also picture this done up in some fun little girly colors for a girls overnight party, how fun would that be??  Alas, I have boys so I will have to wait for a niece, hahaha!

Now don't forget that this coming Friday is our Getting Cricky blog hop and live ustream at 9pm Pacific time. I sure hope you will join us for the ustream with all of Kristal's designers and then follow us to the blog hop for some inspiration.

Today IS simply fabulous! I'm so excited to say I will be remaining on the Getting Cricky design team for another term!! If you would like to hop around a say hi to all the new gals and leave them a warm welcoming message (I know they are very excited about joining us) here is a list of the girls and their blogs :)

So in honor of all of this fabulousness here is some inspiration for you today. In honor of our new Getting Cricky DT

I used K Andrew's Fabulous Friend's set on this card along with S.E.I dp. The fun flower center are some notions I found in the wedding section at Hobby Lobby.  I'm pretty happy with how this card turned out :)

I hope you will a consider joining in on the fun :)
